The Gallic heroes are preparing for their grand return to the big screen in Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia. This animated adventure follows Asterix and Obelix: The Empire of the Middle, released three years ago, and Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion, which premiered eight years ago. Following an initial teaser revealed at the end of 2025, SND has released a new trailer for Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia. Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelliere are credited with the script and direction, with Alexandre Heboyan also directing the film. FrancoisXavier Demaison will lend his voice to Obelix for the first time in this installment. The mission for Asterix and Obelix, assigned by Panoramix, is to retrieve baobab seeds from Nubia. However, this quest takes an unexpected turn when an elixir of youth is accidentally mixed with the famous magic potion. The resulting catastrophe transforms the entire village into children. This prompts Asterix, Obelix, and Panoramix to embark on a quest for a hidden antidote in the mysterious Kingdom of Nubia.

Asterix’s Childhood Adventure in Nubia – Cunning Villain & Youthful Transformation

The new trailer introduces a brand-new villain, who appears significantly more cunning than an entire army of soldiers. During the film’s adventure, Asterix transforms into a child, leaving Obelix to assume more responsibilities while Panoramix struggles to manage the now youthful and turbulent villagers. Directed by Alexandre Heboyan, the feature film is based on an original script by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelliere, known for their recent work on The Count of Monte Cristo. The voice cast features Christian Clavier reprising his role as Asterix, alongside FrancoisXavier Demaison as Obelix and Bernard Alane as Panoramix. Issa Doumbia and Eye Haidara also contribute to the cast. Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia will be released in French cinemas on December 2, 2026.
