With the release of the upcoming James Bond game, 007: First Light, just a month away, details about gameplay remain scarce. Since last September, IO Interactive has released only developer diaries, and those have not always been particularly relevant. However, IO Interactive has announced that Lana Del Rey will provide vocals and David Arnold will compose the main theme. Arnold is well-known for his contributions to the James Bond film scores, and the track is already available for streaming. Critics say the song captures the James Bond ambiance with an elegant, slightly melancholic touch characteristic of Lana Del Rey. It fits well into the James Bond universe while offering a distinct identity, less classical than some previous themes. The opening sequence, “La Foulee,” has also been revealed, staying true to the tradition of the series’ credits with stylized visuals and meticulous staging. IO Interactive has also shared another behind-the-scenes video focusing on the music and setting the atmosphere from the start, especially since the game is an origin story featuring a younger James Bond—age 26—beginning his career in espionage.

Notably, Del Rey’s past attempts to contribute to the Bond franchise were unsuccessful. Her recording for Spectre, Daniel Craig’s fourth Bond film, was rejected by producers. Arnold, however, has contributed music to films such as Tomorrow Never Dies and Casino Royale. 007: First Light is scheduled for release on May 27, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, with a Switch version to follow.
