Remedy has announced that Control Resonant has achieved a significant development milestone: it has gone Gold, marking its readiness for a digital release on September 24th. This achievement means final development is complete and the game is prepared for distribution. The physical edition, however, has been rescheduled for October 15th due to production timelines. Control Resonant is positioned as Remedy’s largest game to date. It serves as a standalone sequel to 2019’s Control, shifting its focus from a third-person shooter or action-adventure RPG to a brutal brawler. The narrative moves from the familiar Oldest House to the shapeshifting outskirts of a warped Manhattan. While Jesse Faden takes a supporting role, her brother Dylan is the central character. The game is expected to offer between 30 and 50 hours of gameplay, featuring an extensive progression system designed around buildcrafting.

Gameplay will incorporate a choice of three initial weapon styles: Flurry, which utilizes twin daggers for rapid, close-range attacks; Slash, employing a long scythe capable of hitting multiple enemies simultaneously; and Slice, which features a heavy hammer for slow but powerful strikes. Each weapon style will have its own distinct upgrade path. Dylan will also gain paranormal abilities, including Rock Shield, Ground Slam, and Flame Wave. Although not an open-world title, Control Resonant presents several large explorable zones with diverse environments and structures, incorporating platforming puzzles and varied enemy encounters, including challenging boss battles against colossal cosmic entities known as Resonant Entities. Control Resonant will be available digitally on PC via Steam and the Epic Store, as well as on macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The official digital release date is September 24, 2026. Some sources have listed September 22nd, which may indicate regional variations or an error. Pre-orders are now open and include bonus items such as Hiss Corruption Outfits, the Pickpockets Tool Artifact, a digital artbook, the original soundtrack, the Untapped Artifact (Wallet), a Starter Resource Bundle, and the AWE Mission Outfit.
