Capcom Removes Deluxe Edition and Lowers Standard Version Price Permanently Before Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Release

Capcom will cease sales of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition and remove in-game microtransactions on June 25th. The company will also introduce a permanent discount on the standard version of the game before the Dark Arisen expansion launches on October 9th. These changes are designed to streamline the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and upcoming free updates. These updates will introduce additional content and various gameplay adjustments that affect certain item values within the game. Starting June 25th, several paid DLC items will be removed from sale. This includes premium currency (Rift Crystals), Gaol Keys, Portcrystals, and Wakestones. The Deluxe Edition of Dragon’s Dogma 2 will no longer be available, leaving only the standard version for purchase. Two packs, Explorers Camp Equipment and Custom Sounds: Music Collection, will remain available. This removal affects players who purchased the Deluxe Edition or individual digital items such as Wakestones, Rift Crystals, Portcrystals, Art of Metamorphosis, Harpysnare Smoke Beacons, and other add-ons for character editing, pawn adjustments, gifts, travel, and revival.

The Dark Arisen expansion, set for release on October 9th for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, will introduce the new northern region of Norgan. It will also feature 12 new dungeon challenges via Lost Rites, along with new enemies and weapons. The expansion aims to provide a fuller gaming experience. Capcom will also permanently reduce the price of the base Dragon’s Dogma 2 game starting June 25th, although the new discounted price has not yet been specified.
