DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations: Regaining Power and Exploring Echoes of the Past

Id Software announced Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations, a story expansion for the main game, at Xbox’s recent showcase event. Following the campaign’s conclusion, the Doom Slayer finds himself in a precarious state: weakened, betrayed, and frozen in Hell, having lost some of his abilities and arsenal. This DLC expansion aims to help the Doom Slayer regain his powers. His armor is damaged, and some weapons are missing. To aid his recovery, Id Software is introducing a new cursed spear. This weapon will be capable of impaling enemies, deflecting projectiles, and enhancing movement with grappling mechanics. The chainsaw bayonet will also be featured. Revelations will expand the Doom universe by introducing new layers of Hell. Players will also undertake excursions to Earth and explore environments that echo the series’ origins. Id Software has promised new enemy types and a persistent challenge. Additionally, a free update for the arena mode is planned. This update will include new customization tools, enabling players to create and share their own custom challenges. Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 7, 2026.
