The Chengdu-based studio announced that public test sessions are scheduled for this summer, allowing players to provide feedback. A new behind-the-scenes video showcases Eclipse Glow Games’ collaboration with Unreal Engine and Nvidia to enhance both game performance and visual fidelity. This partnership involves integrating Nvidia’s super-resolution technology and conducting extensive performance tests, including joint work on graphics card drivers for optimal smoothness. Tencent is also providing technical assistance, contributing to the game’s visual improvements. The development team, alongside Unreal Engine and Nvidia, is focused on enhancing game performance within the engine and at the driver level, aiming to set a new standard for visual quality. Their efforts are directed towards maximizing the capabilities of the latest graphics hardware while ensuring a smooth player experience across a range of hardware configurations. Tides of Annihilation will feature DLSS 4.5 anti-aliasing technology. Players will have the opportunity to experience Tides of Annihilation during public tests this summer, where they can explore the combat system and observe the graphical enhancements. Eclipse Glow Games is also partnering with Epic Games to refine optimization in Tides of Annihilation. Key development aspects discussed in the video include CPU and GPU optimization, animation refinement, integration of upscaling solutions, and the use of path tracing for improved lighting and shadow rendering. The studio is leveraging Unreal Engine’s Nanite technology to manage complex environments, particularly those featuring giant knights. Tides of Annihilation is set in a London overrun by a supernatural invasion from the Outworld. Players control Gwendolyn, a heroine who navigates between a modern, war-torn London and the mystical, Arthurian-inspired realm of Avalon. The game is being developed by a team of approximately 150 professionals, including individuals with prior experience on major titles like Assassin’s Creed, Yakuza, Persona, and Prince of Persia. The game is currently slated for release on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
