CD Projekt Red has officially announced a third expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, titled Songs of the Past. The expansion is scheduled for release in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The studio has not yet confirmed if the expansion will be available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. Songs of the Past is being developed collaboratively by CD Projekt Red and Fools Theory, a studio formed by former developers of The Witcher 3. This partnership allows CD Projekt Red to develop the expansion without impacting its other ongoing projects, which include The Witcher 4, a remake of The Witcher 1, a multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and a new intellectual property. Further details about Songs of the Past, including story elements and gameplay previews, are expected to be revealed around September 2026. The studio had intended to announce the expansion during a The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine anniversary livestream, but an accidental reveal on their REDlauncher interface preceded the official confirmation.
