Gamescom Latin America 2026 Concludes with Awards and Engaged Community Gamescom Latin America 2026, held this past weekend, celebrated a diverse range of games and talent from across the region and the globe. The event showcased a vibrant atmosphere, though its final visitor numbers are still pending against the target of 150,000. The Gamescom LATAM BIG Festival Awards 2026 recognized several standout titles. Poti Poti Studios' This Seat Taken earned the award for Best Casual Game, while Triband's What The Clash was named Best Mobile Game. Pulsatrix Studios' A.I.L.A. took home the Best Game: Brazil award, and A Rats Quest - The Way Back Home by The Dreamerians won Best Game: Latin America. The overall Best Game prize was awarded to Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The Gamescom Latin America showcase was shared across Twitter, Facebook, Bluesky, and Threads, drawing widespread attention. Additionally, attendees could participate in a giveaway for shirts, bags, and other prizes at the gamescom LATAM epix.

A highlight of the event was the appearance of David Wise, composer of the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack. Attendees had the opportunity to get their game cartridges signed by Wise, who was accompanied by his saxophone. Wise also participated in a panel discussion. Creativesquad returned for Gamescom Latin America 2026. The panel featuring the voice actors from Resident Evil Requiem was another notable segment. The team included Marcoantonio as Wesker, Felipe Grinnan as Leon, and Stephany Custodi as Grace, with Monique Alves from Database presenting. Alves is recognized as a Resident Evil ambassador in Brazil, with a significant online following. The Brazilian games scene, while lacking a unified overview, featured independent games prominently throughout the fair with booths positioned diagonally. Publisher Critical Reflex showcased two Brazilian projects, including Ironhive Cards. Gamescom Latin America also hosted a special edition of the Latin American Games Showcase, featuring new content updates, sneak peeks, world premieres, and trailers from the regional gaming industry. Furthermore, finalists for the Brazil Ready for Games Award were revealed at Gamescom Latam in São Paulo. The winner of this award will be announced in August during Gamescom in Germany, receiving 70,000 Brazilian reals (approximately $14,000).
