The Blood of Dawnwalker has set its release date for September 3rd, offering clearer insights into its world and gameplay. Developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who previously directed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, this title marks the studio's debut. The game centers on Coen, a unique protagonist known as a Dawnwalker. In The Blood of Dawnwalker, Coen is on a mission to save his family. The game features a choice-based narrative structure, similar to The Witcher series. Its combat system blends swordplay and magic, integrating both real-time and turn-based elements, akin to Final Fantasy VII Remake. The "Eclipse Edition" will include a digital compendium, soundtrack, and comic book. Rebel Wolves, established by former CD Projekt Red members involved in The Witcher 3 and other titles, is unveiling its first project. Recent communications have included a story trailer emphasizing narrative and character introductions, and a 53-minute "Road to Launch" video providing extensive details. The Polish studio also showcased over ten minutes of previously unseen gameplay footage from the PC version.

The narrative of The Blood of Dawnwalker centers on Coen and the characters he encounters in Val Sangora, a region inspired by the Carpathian Mountains. The core concept involves characters evolving into allies or remaining enemies based on player choices, with Rebel Wolves emphasizing concrete consequences that impact story progression and the world state. The game also features a "focus mode," comparable to the detective vision in Batman: Arkham Asylum and The Witcher 3, which Coen uses for tasks like tracking footprints. Gameplay demonstrations highlighted a world that reacts to player actions, with abilities unlocked through discoveries and situations that can shift unexpectedly. Rebel Wolves aims to connect progression and narrative cohesively. Several team members also detailed the studio's approach to worldbuilding and animations, including motion capture for an antagonist with former UFC champion Jan Błachowicz.
