Live-Action Elden Ring Movie Announced for March 3, 2028 Release with Star-Studded Cast

Production is set to begin in Autumn 2026 for the live-action Elden Ring movie, with a planned release date of March 3, 2028. A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment will distribute the film, which is also set for an IMAX release. Alex Garland is writing and directing the adaptation. The film is based on the video game published by Bandai Namco and developed by FromSoftware. Garland pitched the film concept directly to Bandai Namco and FromSoftware. The film's cast includes Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz. Connor and Whishaw are set to star alongside each other. Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich, George R. R. Martin, and Vince Gerardis are producing the movie. Bandai Namco Entertainment officially announced the film's release date on April 20, 2026, via a press release.
