Splatoon Raiders, initially announced last summer, has resurfaced with a new gameplay video and a confirmed release date. The solo adventure will launch on July 23, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. This new entry introduces significant character creation and gameplay elements, suggesting a departure from the series' established foundation. Splatoon Raiders marks a key exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch 2. Information regarding how Splatoon Raiders will utilize the Switch 2's power and features has not yet been released. The series' history with gyro aiming suggests potential for mouse controls, though this remains unconfirmed. The game was officially announced on April 21, 2026, following a teaser trailer in June 2025. Splatoon Raiders is poised to be a key title in the Nintendo Switch 2's early lineup. The digital version will be available for $49.99, with a physical copy also planned, typically at a higher price point. The game will also feature new exclusive Switch 2 visuals.
Splatoon Raiders: Exploration and Combat in Spirahlite Archipelago with Mechano and Friends
In Splatoon Raiders, players assume the role of a Mechano exploring the Spirahlite archipelago. The objective is to raid islands, recover treasures, and survive encounters with the omnipresent Salmonoids. While maintaining the series' core identity with ink guns, swift movement, and dynamic combat, the gameplay structure shifts towards exploration and mission-based progression, diverging from traditional arena matches. An offshore base will serve as a hub for managing upgrades, preparing for expeditions, and evolving equipment. Character and weapon customization are also prominent features. Players will be joined by three companions: Frye, Shiver, and Big Man, members of the Tridenfer group, who will enhance the adventure. One of these companions can be deployed as an AI-controlled bot to provide support during missions. Although the primary experience is solo-oriented, a multiplayer mode supporting up to four players online or locally is not entirely ruled out. Tridenfer-dedicated amiibo will be available at launch and will unlock specific in-game content. Splatoon Raiders is scheduled for release on July 23, 2026.
