Recent activity on the SteamDB database, first reported by Reddit user ProfessionalBank469, strongly suggests an upcoming expansion. ProfessionalBank469 spotted a new 77 GB file package for Dragon’s Dogma 2 briefly appear on Steam’s servers before Capcom quickly replaced it with much smaller updates of 115 KB and 291 KB. The original package’s size is notable, as Dragon’s Dogma 2 currently requires approximately 65 GB of storage space. The 12 GB difference suggests a substantial addition, fitting the scale of a large expansion that would reuse many of the base game’s existing assets. However, the imminent release of Pragmata, Capcom’s new IP, could delay any Dragon’s Dogma 2 announcements, as the publisher may prefer to focus on Pragmata first. Moreover, game director Hideaki Itsuno’s departure from Capcom raises questions about the future direction of the franchise.
