Warner Bros. Animation, DC Studios, and Warner Home Entertainment will preview Jeff Wamester's Batman: Knightfall at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June 2026. This film, which depicts Batman's iconic confrontation with Bane, the villain who broke the Bat, marks the beginning of a multipart animated adaptation. Also at the festival, Warner Bros. will screen Daffy Season, a new six-minute animated short from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation that expands the Looney Tunes universe. Science Saru, the Japanese studio known for Dan Da Dan, will present the world premiere of the first two episodes of their new Ghost in the Shell anime. Director Mokochan and producers Kohei Sakita, Kengo Abe, and Daichi Sasa will introduce their fresh take on Masamune Shirow's renowned work. Batman: Knightfall Part 1, produced by DC Animated Studios, is also anticipated. While a theatrical release is unconfirmed, it may appear on HBO Max. In this film, Dick Grayson will join Bruce Wayne in his fight against Bane. In other DC film news, Robert Pattinson’s second Batman movie (an Elseworlds story) is scheduled to premiere in theaters on October 1, 2027, and a rated-R Clayface film is planned for release on October 28, 2026.
