In April, HBO Max Portugal will feature new seasons of its hit series Hacks and Euphoria, alongside Portuguese films, live sports, and other new content. HBO Max will also release the new limited series Half Man in April 2026. Premieres On April 10th, the award-winning comedy Hacks returns for its fifth and final season. Following false reports of her death, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) head back to Las Vegas, more determined than ever to solidify Deborah’s stand-up comedy legacy. Euphoria premieres its third season on April 13th, continuing its exploration of youth’s complexities and struggles. The six-episode miniseries Half Man explores brotherhood, violence, and the fragility of male relationships, following the lives of Niall and Ruben from the 1980s to the present day. Their bond, forged through shared tragedy, is tested when Ruben’s behavior at Niall’s wedding triggers a violent outburst, revealing their complicated past. On April 23rd, the platform adds several Portuguese films: the historical drama Camarada Cunhal, the dark comedy Sonhar com Leoes, and the satirical Capitao Falcao. The month concludes with the dystopian Portuguese feature O Melhor dos Mundo and the drama Iron Claw.

Camarada Cunhal: Despite being under close surveillance, Cunhal and his fellow prisoners organize initiatives to support the most vulnerable while crafting an escape plan. With help from Jorge Alves, one of the guards, and several comrades abroad connected to PCP, they devised a strategy to put into action on January 3rd, 1960. Sonhar com Leoes: Directed by Paolo Marinou-Blanco, this dark comedy centers on Gilda, a Brazilian woman living in Lisbon who is diagnosed with spinal cord cancer. After several failed suicide attempts, she seeks help from an illicit company that organizes lectures on euthanasia and assisted suicide for terminally ill people. Capitao Falcao: Set in 1960s Portugal, this film follows Captain Falcao, a patriotic superhero devoted to Prime Minister Antonio de Oliveira Salazar. He combats threats to the nation, facing antifascist movements that could undermine the New State. With his comrade Puto Perdiz, Captain Falcao strives to eliminate anyone opposing the Portuguese dictatorship.

O Melhor dos Mundo: Set in Lisbon in 2027, seismologist Marta and oceanographer Miguel, a married couple working with the same scientists, face a crisis when Marta discovers data indicating a potential magnitude nine earthquake. This event threatens to devastate Lisbon and the Algarve, mirroring the 1755 tragedy. Marta struggles to convince her colleagues to warn the public.
