In his first meeting with investors, Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro announced the release dates for Lilo & Stitch 2 and The Incredibles 3. Lilo & Stitch 2 is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 26, 2028, followed by The Incredibles 3 on June 16, 2028. These films exemplify Disney's strategy of blending nostalgia with fresh, original stories. Chris Sanders, writer of the original Lilo & Stitch, returns to write the script for Lilo & Stitch 2. Fans are especially excited, given some criticisms of the 2025 live-action remake, including Jumba's portrayal as the main villain and Nani's decision to leave Lilo and Stitch with David and his grandmother to attend college. The live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch grossed $1.038 billion at the box office against a budget of $100 million. Peter Sohn, director of Elemental, is set to direct The Incredibles 3. Brad Bird, who directed the previous Incredibles films, will remain involved as a screenwriter and producer but will not direct this installment. Plot details for Lilo & Stitch 2 are currently under wraps. D'Amaro also mentioned that Disney is merging with Hulu on their Disney platform, while Warner Bros. has been officially acquired by Paramount Skydance.
