BYD, a leading electric vehicle and green mobility company, has entered a partnership with Manchester City Football Club, uniting a technology innovator with a world-renowned soccer club. As part of the agreement, BYD will provide Manchester City with vehicles from its BYD and Denza brands and will install charging infrastructure and battery storage at the City Football Academy, the club's training complex. Beginning today, the BYD logo will be featured on the sleeves of Manchester City's men's first-team training kits. Starting next season, the logo will also appear on the women's main team kits. At the Etihad Stadium, BYD's brand will be visible on substitute benches, and a BYD vehicle will lead the men's team bus into Premier League and national competition matches. This collaboration supports BYD's global expansion strategy, aiming to enhance the visibility of its electric vehicles and technologies worldwide. BYD is already an official sponsor of UEFA Euro 2024 and the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025. In 2023, BYD achieved global sales of 4.6 million vehicles, with over one million sold outside of China. The company's Shenzhen headquarters houses approximately 120,000 engineers engaged in research and development, resulting in around 45 daily patent filings. BYD Auto, the automotive division of BYD, is dedicated to accelerating the global transition to green transportation through its focus on pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. BYD masters core technologies, including batteries, motors, control units, and semiconductors, leading to innovations such as the Blade Battery, DM-i and DM-p hybrid technology, e-Platform 3.0, CTB and ITAC technology, the DIS E-car body control system, and the Xuanji architecture. BYD was the first automaker to discontinue production of gasoline-only vehicles and has been the top seller of new energy passenger vehicles in China for 13 consecutive years.
