Bethesda has announced the PlayStation 5 version of Starfield, along with a new expansion and updates for all versions of the game, emphasizing that this is “just another step in its journey,” not the end. The PlayStation 5 launch is scheduled for April 7th. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Bethesda’s Tim Lamb confirmed that the April 7th release will be “the best version of Starfield so far,” while clarifying that it is not a 2.0 release. Lamb affirmed the plan to support Starfield for years with long-term plans. While he didn’t confirm specifics beyond the April content, he noted that the team is actively working on the game. The PlayStation 5 version will utilize DualSense controller features like the light bar, adaptive triggers, and touchpad. On a PlayStation 5 Pro console, players can choose between Pro Performance Mode for smoother gameplay or Pro Visual Mode for enhanced graphics. The standard PS5 edition of Starfield will cost $49.99. A Premium Edition will also be available, both digitally and physically, and includes Starfield’s soundtrack, a digital artbook, the Shattered Space DLC, and the Terran Armada DLC. Pre-orders for both editions are now open on the PlayStation Store.
