Record-Breaking Debut for Scream 7 Globally, Outperforming Series Predecessors
Scream 7 has broken franchise records, demonstrating the series' continued appeal. The film grossed $177 million globally in its debut, marking Paramount's best series opening ever, unadjusted for inflation. Of that initial gross, $64.1 million came from North America and $33.1 million from overseas markets. Scream 7 is also the first film in the franchise to be released in IMAX, ScreenX, and other premium formats. The film's international debut was strongest in the UK, with $5.3 million. It is scheduled to open soon in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. Domestically, Scream 7 has earned $106.5 million as of March 15, including an additional $400,000 since its initial release. Its total global gross after three weekends is $176.9 million. This puts Scream 7 on track to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise by the end of its third week, needing just $1.4 million more to surpass Scream VI's domestic record. The return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott proved to be a major draw, suggesting continued success in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Wuthering Heights is approaching $200 million after three weekends, and GOAT has already earned $130.5 million worldwide.
