Capcom announced that Resident Evil Requiem, released on February 27, 2026, has sold over 6 million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest game in the series to reach this milestone. By comparison, Resident Evil 4 Remake reached 5 million copies in four months and surpassed 6 million in over eight months. Resident Evil Village, released in 2021, sold 5 million copies in six months and reached 6 million after a year. Resident Evil Requiem achieved 5 million sales in its first weekend and 6 million in approximately 17 days. Critics and the public have lauded Resident Evil Requiem, many considering it among the best entries, though generally ranking it slightly behind Resident Evil 2 and 4 and their remakes. The game’s commercial success reflects both its quality and the sustained popularity of the Resident Evil series, bolstered by a string of successful releases from Capcom since Resident Evil 7. Capcom Co., Ltd. highlights Resident Evil Requiem’s photorealistic visuals and immersive experience, promising an enhanced survival horror experience through its dual protagonists.

Capcom plans to support Resident Evil Requiem with additional content. Game director Koshi Nakanishi confirmed that a story expansion is in development, with a photo mode and minigame scheduled for release in May. Additionally, Capcom will release Grace and Leon amiibo figures for Resident Evil Requiem on July 30, 2025. Capcom also announced the following: Capcom will release Pragmata on April 17 on Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A free demo is currently available.
