Release Date for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book Confirmed

Yoshi's Adventure Unfolds in Mysterius's Pages - May 21, 2026 Release on Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has announced that Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, the first game starring Yoshi on the Nintendo Switch 2, will be released on May 21, 2026. The game begins when Yoshi encounters Mysterius, a talking book that falls from the sky. As Yoshi explores Mysterius, he uncovers secrets about strange creatures, with each page forming a chapter in his adventure. Players can name the creatures they discover within the game. A new trailer released by Nintendo Today (and later on YouTube) shows players conducting experiments to learn each creature's properties and how to use them to progress. New discoveries are automatically recorded in the book. Stars earned from discoveries unlock the next chapters of the Bigotuda Encyclopedia. Yoshi can interact with the creatures by eating them, jumping on them, or carrying them. According to the game description, players should "use Yoshi's abilities to make all kinds of discoveries about the creatures that populate Mysterius's pages." Also coming soon, Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition will be released on March 26, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book connects to the Prof. Yosh Challenge. Check out the trailers for more information about these upcoming releases.
