To celebrate the franchise's 10th anniversary, Ubisoft has introduced new features to The Division 2, the central platform for the festivities. The anniversary event, running from March 3 to April 2, brings new weapons, gear, rotating Global Events, special anniversary rewards, and bundles. The Division 2's 10th Anniversary Season, launching March 3, 2026, debuts with a new Realism mode. This mode features a separate character journey during the Warlords of New York campaign and a simplified interface for a more immersive experience. Combat is faster and deadlier, with agents and enemies alike facing increased lethality. Fallen enemies drop ammo, while longer skill cooldowns demand more strategic choices with greater rewards. Gear bonuses now enhance physical attributes, providing better protection at the cost of reduced mobility. The update also delivers visual improvements, enhancing lighting, shadows, fog, reflections, and materials in Washington, D.C., and New York. Following the campaign's completion, players can continue to explore New York City. The update also includes outfit pieces inspired by Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and Rainbow Six Siege, along with new Exotic and Named gear.
Anniversary Season in The Division 2 Brings Realism Mode, Visual Upgrade, and Crossover Events
The Division 2's Anniversary Season—live from March 3 to April 2—features a free, permanent visual upgrade for all players, along with the new Realism mode in the Warlords of New York expansion (free for all players during this period), an event pass with items from series like Rainbow Six Siege, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon, and events inspired by the first game. Realism mode removes HP regeneration, limits ammo, extends cooldown times, and simplifies RPG elements. Notably, some players have reported issues with Ubisoft Connect, including frequent connection drops and account suspensions due to multiple incorrect password attempts.
