Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Just Got Even Better

Microsoft has released a significant update for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, enabling them to stream games at up to 1440p resolution directly on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X, and Xbox One S consoles. Accompanied by a higher bitrate, this enhancement results in a sharper image with fewer compression artifacts and smoother gameplay for compatible titles accessed via cloud streaming. Microsoft emphasizes that this visual upgrade is exclusive to the Ultimate tier. The February update also marks a crucial milestone: Xbox Cloud Gaming has officially exited beta after years of testing. According to Xbox Wire, the 1440p streaming capability extends beyond consoles and PCs to handheld devices and other hardware compatible with Xbox Game Pass. The February Xbox Update also includes improvements to the Xbox PC App, such as new sounds to boost controller navigation responsiveness, and simplifies formatting removable storage with the ROG Xbox Ally. Postgame Recaps are now available for Xbox Insiders on PC, and an improved Xbox Cloud Gaming web experience is in public preview for Insiders. This improvement, while not affecting the subscription price, makes the Ultimate tier an even better value and encourages long-term subscriptions.

Enhanced Streaming Quality Elevates Xbox Cloud Gaming Experience for Subscribers

Current subscribers will immediately notice the improved streaming quality. For those considering joining, this enhancement presents a new factor to consider when evaluating the cost-benefit of the service as Xbox advances its cloud gaming platform.
