Hogwarts Legacy 2 in 2027, Suggests Warner

Warner Bros. Discovery anticipates its video game division will demonstrate its full potential within the next few years, following a restructuring in 2025. According to Warner Bros. Discovery executive JB Perrette, Warner Bros. Games had become unfocused by managing too many properties across too many studios. Following this restructuring, 2026 will see the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, a mobile game set in the Game of Thrones universe. A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy is planned for release as early as 2027, coinciding with a broader revamp of the Harry Potter franchise and the release of the new HBO Harry Potter series slated for early 2027. Hogwarts Legacy 2 aims to deliver in-depth storytelling, enhanced graphics, and optional multiplayer features, with online elements designed to enhance, not replace, the main narrative. Further indicating development, Avalanche Software is currently hiring for an unannounced game within an established franchise.

Hogwarts Legacy Sequel Targets 2027-2028 Release amid Franchise Revitalization and Multiple Series Reboots

While Perrette did not specify plans for 2026, he indicated that major titles like Hogwarts Legacy 2 would arrive between 2027 and 2028, with "real fruits" emerging as the company revisits some of its largest franchises. Warner Bros. Games may also revive the Batman: Arkham and Mortal Kombat series. Perrette discussed these plans with Variety, emphasizing the strategic alignment of game releases with key franchise initiatives.
