The Super Bomberman Collection is now available for digital download on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch Lite. Preorders for the physical edition begin today, with the release scheduled for August 25. This collection includes the five Super Bomberman titles released between 1993 and 1997, some of which were previously exclusive to Japan. The package also contains the original Bomberman (1985) and Bomberman II (1991). Enhancements include a save-anywhere function and a rewind feature for challenging stages. Here’s a breakdown of the included titles: Super Bomberman (SNES): This game marked Bomberman’s SNES debut, introducing his signature gameplay and competitive battles as he fought Mr. Karat’s robot army, Dr. Mukk, and other villains across Japanese, American, and European versions. Super Bomberman 2: Bomberman is captured by the Bomber Quad and must free both himself and Earth by defeating them. This installment is known for improved controls and balance in its classic multiplayer mode. Super Bomberman 3: Five Bombermen, led by Professor Bugler, return with new abilities that add strategic depth to both single-player and multiplayer modes.

Super Bomberman 4: In this Japan-only release, Bomberman embarks on a time-traveling adventure created by the Four Bomb King brothers, whose motives remain mysterious. This game introduced mountable characters, such as fish and flying turtles. Super Bomberman 5: The final installment in the series features the evil Emperor Terrorin, who frees eight Bomb Brothers to wreak havoc. The game offers a “choose your own ending” style of gameplay. Bomberman (1985): The original title, offering strategic maze action across 50 stages. Its success led to numerous sequels. Bomberman II (1991): Added a multiplayer mode, setting the stage for future Bomberman gaming parties. The Super Bomberman Collection also enhances player-versus-player gameplay with bonus features. The “Bomb Radio” plays iconic music from the original games. Gallery mode offers approximately 200 character illustrations from the five Super Bomberman titles in the collection. “Boss Rush” mode lets players engage in boss battles from different Bomberman games, including a time trial feature with three difficulty levels. According to Konami, the collection is compatible with Gameshare, a Nintendo Switch feature that allows up to four players to share and play together, even if they do not all own the game.
