Arcade Classic Arrives on Consoles 30 Years After Release

Rave Racer Arrives on Nintendo, Cool Boarders Resurrected - Hamster's Arcade & Console Archives Unveiled

Hamster has announced upcoming additions to their Arcade Archives and a new Console Archives line, bringing several retro titles to modern platforms. Rave Racer, originally released in arcades in 1995, will be available on Nintendo Switch and a currently unspecified future Nintendo console starting February 26. This marks the game’s first console appearance and Hamster’s second title in the Arcade Archives series, following Ridge Racer. Rave Racer was the last game in the series to hit arcades before the transition to PlayStation with Rage Racer. In addition, Hamster is launching a new Console Archives line, focused on reviving classic console games that are hard to find or no longer available. Cool Boarders and Ninja Gaiden 2: The Dark Sword of Chaos are the first releases in this line, both available now. Ninja Gaiden 2 originally appeared on NES in 1990. Cool Boarders was released in 1996 and was among the first 3D games for 32-bit consoles. Hamster also plans to release Doraemon and Sonic Wings Special in the Console Archives line. With these announcements, Hamster aims to revive retro gaming experiences for collectors and fans of classic titles.
