Take-Two Confirms GTA 6 Release on Schedule, Physical Media in Play, and Summer Marketing Kickoff

Take-Two Interactive has refuted rumors of Grand Theft Auto 6 going digital-only or being delayed again. CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed in a Variety interview that the game remains on schedule for its November 19, 2026, release, with marketing slated to begin mid-year. Last month, ppe.pl reported these rumors, claiming Rockstar Games intended to forgo a physical release at launch to prevent leaks. The report presented varying accounts, with some sources suggesting a physical copy would follow the digital release in three to four weeks, while others indicated it could be as late as early 2027. Zelnick dismissed these claims, stating, "That's not how it is." During Take-Two's earnings call, Zelnick expressed confidence in its November release and announced that marketing efforts would commence this summer in the northern hemisphere. He added that confidence levels are at their peak when setting marketing goals. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
