Crunchyroll to Get More Expensive

Increased Prices for Crunchyroll Fans in US and Countries, but Portugal Remains Unaffected for Now

Starting March 4th, Crunchyroll will increase its anime streaming prices in the US and other countries; however, Portugal is currently unaffected. In the US, the monthly price for the Fan plan will increase from $7.99 to $9.99, the Mega Fan plan from $11.99 to $13.99, and the Ultimate Fan plan from $15.99 to $17.99. Portugal currently maintains lower prices: the Fan plan is €7.99 monthly or €63.99 annually (approximately €5.33 monthly), while Mega Fan is €9.99 monthly or €79.99 annually (approximately €6.66 monthly). It is unclear how long Portugal will remain unaffected by these price increases, especially given Crunchyroll's recent controversies and expansions, including the addition of manga reading options and exclusive anime deals with Aniplex. The impact of these factors on future pricing remains to be seen.
