Silent Hill Actors Masago and Hiraoka Appointed Gero City Tourism Ambassadors, Fueling Real-Life Romance Speculations
Takeshi Masago and Tamami Hiraoka, the actors who portray the parents of the main character in Silent Hill F, have been appointed as official tourism ambassadors for Gero City. The pair announced the news in a YouTube video, displaying their certificates of appointment. Their playful celebration in the video led some fans to initially believe they had married, fueled by their strong on-screen chemistry and frequent couple travel videos exploring locations that inspired the game. They often refer to each other as "husband" and "wife," raising fans' hopes for a real-life relationship. Gero City, which inspired the village of Ebisugaoka in Silent Hill F, is not the first Japanese city to leverage video game popularity for tourism. In 2020, Tsushima Island named Nate Fox and Jason Connell, the developers of Ghost of Tsushima, as its tourism ambassadors.
