Nioh 3 May Come to Consoles Beyond PS5 Starting August

A new Nioh game may soon be available on other consoles. A disclaimer at the end of the trailer states the game will be available on PC but not on other consoles until six months after its February 6, 2026, release—suggesting a possible August release for Xbox or Nintendo. However, the first two Nioh games were released only on PlayStation and PC, so fans on other consoles should temper their expectations. Nioh 3 is a Soulslike game set in a demonic version of Japan’s Sengoku period, specifically in 1622 at Edo Castle. The story focuses on Tokugawa Takechiyo, son of Ieyasu and heir to the Shogunate, as he confronts the chaos caused by his brother, Kunimatsu. Kunimatsu, corrupted by an evil force, commands hordes of yokai. Takechiyo, guided by his Guardian Spirit Kusanagi, must travel through the Edo, Sengoku, Heian, and Bakumatsu eras to battle against the Crucible, calamities that are consuming the land. During his journey, he encounters historical figures such as Himiko, Hattori Hanzo, and Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Takechiyo is on a mission to alter fate and save Japan from the yokai.

Nioh 3’s Feb ’23 Debut on PS5 and PC – Interconnected Open World, Dynamic Combat Styles

The game introduces expansive, interconnected open fields that offer non-linear exploration, numerous side quests, and unexpected yokai encounters, and it features a new progression system, eliminating the need to revisit previous maps. The combat system allows players to switch instantly between Samurai styles (weapon stances, Ki pulse, parries, and powerful attacks) and Ninja styles (agile, aerial, with Ninjutsu tools). Each combat style has its own dedicated equipment, allowing players to adapt their loadouts on the fly. Nioh 3 will be released on February 6th for PS5 and PC.
