Beyond Good & Evil 2 Remains in Development Amidst Ubisoft's Restructuring and Project Adjustments
Despite recent turmoil and game cancellations at Ubisoft, Beyond Good & Evil 2 remains in development. According to Creative Director Fawzi Mesmar, the long-awaited sequel is still in production. As part of a corporate reorganization, Ubisoft recently canceled six unannounced titles, including a new Prince of Persia game. The company is dividing its studios into creative houses, with Beyond Good & Evil 2 assigned to Creative House 4, alongside franchises like Anno, Might & Magic, and Rayman. Mesmar addressed the game's status directly, stating, "We're all good over here with our Beyond Good And Evil 2 project, no changes to report. We're still totally focused on making an amazing game for our players." He also expressed sympathy for colleagues affected by the cancellations, adding, "I’m really sorry about the cancellations affecting my colleagues elsewhere in Ubisoft and the industry. Let’s all support each other during this time." Mesmar directed readers to "the official press release for more on our current setup." Despite its lengthy development period, all indications are that Beyond Good & Evil 2 has survived these changes at Ubisoft and remains an active project.
