New Game and Anime on the Horizon for Dragon Ball's 40th Anniversary

The Dragon Ball franchise is celebrating its 40th anniversary with announcements of a new game and anime series that came out of this past weekend's Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event.

A new Dragon Ball video game, currently titled Age 1000, is in development. The game is set far in the future, after the stories of Goku and his friends, and will feature new characters designed by series creator Akira Toriyama, including a gray-haired Super Saiyan. The official title and platform availability are scheduled to be revealed at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event on April 18–19, 2026. Additionally, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will receive new DLCs this year, adding Super Android 17, Super Saiyan Bardock, and Demon King Piccolo to the game's roster.

Dragon Ball's 40th Anniversary Unveils New Anime Series and Hans Zimmer's "Infinite Future" Theme

In addition to the game updates, two new anime series were announced: Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, which adapts the Prisoner of the Galactic Patrol story arc from the manga, introducing the villain Moro, and Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, a remake of the Beerus story arcs. The remake aims to provide improved animation and more engaging battles, with the intent of portraying the God of Destruction as a more serious villain than his previously food-obsessed, clumsy portrayal. To commemorate the 40th anniversary, Hans Zimmer has created a special musical piece titled "Infinite Future." Promotional information and social media links concluded the event but are not included in this summary.
