PS Plus Members on PS4 Will Have Fewer Games

Adjusted PlayStation Plus Focuses on PS5 Content from January 2026, Fewer Games for PS4

Starting in January 2026, Sony will adjust PlayStation Plus to focus on PS5 content, reducing the number of monthly games for PS4. This month, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers will receive just a single current-gen exclusive title, Need for Speed Unbound. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and Core Keeper will also be available on PS4. Of the nine games announced for the Extra and Premium tiers Games Catalog, only one lacks a PS4 version. A year ago, Sony announced that it would begin shifting PlayStation Plus toward PS5 games in January 2026. At that time, Sony stated that PS4 games would no longer be a primary focus, appearing less frequently as monthly games or in the Games Catalog, and emphasized changes for players transitioning between consoles, including potential cross-gen play. While the initial changes begin in January 2026, subscribers should note that February 2026 is expected to bring further changes to the PlayStation Plus service.
