Chris Pratt Nearly Confirms Star-Lord in Avengers: Doomsday

Star-Lord Confirmed for Marvel Cinematic Universe's Return in Upcoming Projects

Chris Pratt has reaffirmed that Star-Lord will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, referencing the character's promise to return at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3. In a recent interview with Collider, Pratt addressed his absence from the Avengers: Doomsday announcement event. He joked that while he wasn't there, perhaps his chair was. Although he didn't provide specifics, Pratt confirmed Star-Lord's return is planned. "We promised at the end of the third volume that the legendary Star-Lord would return, and he will," Pratt stated amidst lighthearted banter. Pratt's confirmation follows speculation about Star-Lord’s potential appearance in Avengers: Doomsday, which began when he was not included in the initial cast announcement in March 2025. Addressing these rumors on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Pratt quipped that he would only reveal details about Star-Lord’s involvement if asked by the Pope. While Star-Lord's return is anticipated, Pratt is currently focused on promoting Mercy and filming The Terminal List, and also plans to spend time with his family.
