Association of Games Positively Evaluates Roblox Measures for Child and Adolescent Protection

Advancements in Roblox Safety Praised by Brazilian Game Association Following Law Implementation

Roblox is being praised for its new safety measures. The Association of Game Creators of Rio de Janeiro (ACJOGOSRJ) considers Roblox's recent safety enhancements a significant advancement in safeguarding young users online. This follows the establishment of Brazil's Federal Law No. 14,852 in 2024, which holds platforms accountable for the content accessible to children and teenagers, particularly as outlined in Title III. According to Marcio Filho, President of ACJOGOSRJ, the Games Law effectively ensures platforms take responsibility for the content children and teenagers view. He also expressed satisfaction with Roblox's new rules, emphasizing that these measures represent progress in ensuring child safety online. ACJOGOSRJ recognizes Roblox's efforts to protect young users through age verification using facial recognition and by requiring parental consent for certain features. The association views these actions as consistent with Brazilian law on digital game protection, particularly in light of past incidents. They also highlight the importance of parental supervision, open communication, and guidance to ensure children's safety while using digital platforms.

Enhanced Digital Safety in Roblox Applauded by Brazilian Association Following Law Implementation and Gf Corp's Initiatives

Marcio Filho, also head of Gf Corp, has advocated for policies that protect children online, including his involvement in the passage of Federal Law 14,852. ACJOGOSRJ views Roblox's age verification and parental consent features as a step toward more mature digital protection policies, in response to ongoing concerns in Brazil. Gf Corp also contributes to online safety by creating educational games designed to make learning enjoyable.
