Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Surfaces in Age Rating

Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake - T for Teen with Blood, Nudity, Sexual Content, and Violence

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has posted its review of Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake, assigning it a T for Teen rating, strongly suggesting an imminent release. The rating indicates the game contains blood, partial nudity, sexual themes, and violence. The ESRB's description details an action-adventure game where players control a Persian Prince to explore platforming environments, solve puzzles, avoid traps, and battle cursed soldiers and sand creatures using swords and daggers in melee combat. Battles feature visual effects like sword clashes, cries of pain, blood splatters, and slow-motion cameras. The review also notes a 2D side-scrolling sequence reminiscent of the original Prince of Persia, depicting pools of blood when the Prince is killed. Additionally, the game contains a scene where a female character's buttocks are briefly exposed, and a suggestive scene of the Prince and the woman kissing and caressing in bed, though the camera obscures explicit details as the scene fades to black. While Ubisoft has not announced a release date, the ESRB listing suggests a potential "shadow drop"—a surprise release strategy similar to Bethesda's unannounced launch of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake last April.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake's Anticipated Release within Fiscal Year 2026 – ESRB Rating Confirmed

First announced in 2020, developmental challenges delayed the Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake from its initial 2022-2023 release window. Ubisoft Montreal later announced plans to release it by March 31, 2026, the end of the current fiscal year. [Update: The ESRB initially posted the rating on January 15, 2026, briefly removed it on January 14, 2026, and then reposted it. The listing has remained on the site since.] Therefore, given the ESRB rating and the stated release window, Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake is likely to arrive before the end of the current fiscal year.
