Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic - Early Development Stage by Arcanaut Studios

Arcanaut Studios, led by Casey Hudson—director of Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy—is developing Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a narrative-driven, single-player action RPG for PC and consoles, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Arcanaut Studios unveiled the game at The Game Awards 2025. However, the announcement may have been premature. Jason Schreier noted that Arcanaut Studios was only founded in July 2025, and commented on the studio's early stage in response to the unveiling. As Schreier put it, "Lucasfilm says the studio was founded this year, meaning suggesting it arrives in 2030 is optimistic. Maybe it's a PS7 game." The studio's recent establishment suggests that Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is still in the early stages of development. Arcanaut Studios is currently seeking game developers to join the project. This situation echoes that of Knights of the Old Republic Remake and Star Wars Eclipse, projects announced years ago that remain without firm release dates.
