Resident Evil: Requiem – Leon Kennedy & Grace Ashcroft Unveiled as Playable Characters

Capcom unveiled a new trailer for Resident Evil: Requiem at The Game Awards 2025, confirming Leon S. Kennedy as the game’s second playable protagonist. The trailer also officially revealed Victor Gideon as the main antagonist. A PlayStation Store leak prior to the event also confirmed Leon’s inclusion. The trailer showcased Leon in action, substantiating his role as a playable character, after months of rumors and speculation dating back to Gamescom in August. While the trailer didn’t mention a third playable character, a GameStop listing earlier in the week suggested Rosemary Winters might join the cast. The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley noted that Leon will be playable in Requiem’s most intense action sequences, while Grace Ashcroft’s sections will focus on horror. The trailer also spotlights Victor Gideon, a physician responsible for the murder of Grace’s mother, Alyssa Ashcroft. According to Capcom’s synopsis, “Experience the terror of survival with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and dive into electrifying action with the legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy. Their unique journeys and gameplay styles intertwine in an exhilarating, breathless experience.” Resident Evil: Requiem is scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
