Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Expands with Stranger Things-themed Missions and Hawkins Exploration

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been updated with a free Stranger Things expansion, allowing players to pilot aircraft over Hawkins, the eerie Indiana town familiar to fans of the Netflix series. The expansion delivers five rescue missions and access to 40 locations from the show, including the infamous Hawkins Lab, Hawkins Middle School, the Starcourt Mall, Family Video, Palace Arcade, and the shores of Lovers Lake. The trailer showcases dramatic encounters with breaches to the Upside Down, lurking Demogorgons, and other airborne creatures. The expansion also grants players a free Bell UH1H Huey helicopter, adorned with Hawkins-themed liveries such as the Hawkins HeliTours design. This particular Huey was provided to Microsoft by Taogs Hangar and expertly integrated into the game. Players will be guided through five unique missions—involving supply deliveries, daring rescues, and high-speed chases—by the voice of Murray Bauman. Between missions, sim pilots can freely explore the meticulously recreated landscape of Hawkins and capture memorable moments using the built-in photo mode. Owners of the existing payware Huey for MSFS 2020 should note that it remains a separate product, though compatibility updates for MSFS 2024 may be released in the future.
