Leaks from The Game Awards: Lenny Kravitz to be Villain in Upcoming Video Game '007 First Light'

Lenny Kravitz Cast as Villain Bawma in 007 First Light, Leaked Trailer Reveals Confrontation with James Bond

Ahead of The Game Awards, the official James Bond profile on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed that Lenny Kravitz will portray the villain, Bawma, in IO Interactive's upcoming video game, 007 First Light. IO Interactive had planned the reveal for The Game Awards, but an early trailer showcasing Kravitz as Bawma leaked online. The leaked trailer, saved by users before it was removed, features a confrontation between Bawma and James Bond in Aleph, Mauritania. A separate, deleted post showed Bawma threatening to throw Bond into a pit of crocodiles. Kravitz will provide both the voice and appearance for the character. 007 First Light is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The cast includes Gemma Chan (Eternals), Lennie James (The Walking Dead), and Patrick Gibson (Dexter: New Blood). Gibson will voice James Bond in a non-canonical story, as developers have stated that 007 First Light will establish its own universe separate from established James Bond lore.

Lenny Kravitz to Sing Theme Song and Potential Villain in 007 First Light, Anticipated Announcements at The Game Awards for Tomb Raider and Warhammer 40,000

The announcement of Kravitz's role has prompted speculation that he may also perform the theme song for 007 First Light. Previously, Lana Del Rey was considered a frontrunner, especially after recent recordings of a song titled "First Light." If Kravitz sings the theme, it would follow his casting as the villain. Sources suggest potential announcements regarding the Tomb Raider series and a Total War game themed around Warhammer 40,000 are also expected at The Game Awards.
