Apparently, Destiny 3 is Already Under Development

New Destiny 3 and Destiny 2 Classic in Development - Early Stages, Possible Release Post-2029

Rumors of a potential Destiny 3 are circulating, fueled by reports from insiders Colony Deaks (also known as Deakstiny) and BungieLeaks. Deaks tweeted that Bungie has begun working on Destiny 3, although the game is in the very early stages of development. Deaks also mentioned having extensive but unconfirmed information regarding "Destiny 2 Classic" following a question about that topic. BungieLeaks has stated that a Destiny 2 classic version is in development. Both insiders attribute the recent delay in the Destiny 2 roadmap to these projects. Current concepts being tested for Destiny 3 reportedly include AI-assisted concept art for Dredgen Bael, the antagonist from the Renegades expansion. Because development is in its early stages, a release before 2029 or 2030 is unlikely. This speculation arrives as Destiny 2 has experienced declining player numbers, potentially motivating development of a new title. In early October, the game recorded its lowest number of concurrent players on Steam within a 24-hour period, a drop attributed to player dissatisfaction with recent changes. Readers should remember that all details are based on unconfirmed reports.
