Stellar Blade's Studio Shift Up Partners with Tencent for Upcoming Game Publication

Tencent and Shift Up Collaborate Again on Project Spirits, a Multiplatform Subculture Game Inspired by Eastern Fantasy

Shift Up, the studio celebrated for Stellar Blade, has partnered with Tencent to publish Project Spirits, an upcoming multiplatform title previously known as codename Project Witches. Shift Up is developing Project Spirits in collaboration with Yongxing Interactive, a Tencent studio, using Unreal Engine 5. Level Infinite, Tencent Games' global publishing division, will release Project Spirits on PC, consoles, and mobile devices. While details remain scarce, Shift Up has described Project Spirits as a multiplatform subculture game inspired by Eastern fantasy. The game art revealed in June suggests a style reminiscent of Goddess of Victory: Nikke, the PC and mobile game released in 2022. Level Infinite's publication of Project Spirits continues the collaboration between Tencent and Shift Up, which also encompasses Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Yongxing Interactive will also support the development of Project Spirits. According to Shift Up's latest investor report, approximately 20 employees were dedicated to Project Spirits as of September 2023. In addition to Project Spirits, Shift Up is currently developing a sequel to Stellar Blade, projected for release in late 2027, according to its financial results, ensuring a continued stream of engaging content from the studio.
