Quantic Dream Unveils Free-to-Play Multiplayer Game, Spellcasters Chronicles

Quantic Dream, the studio behind Detroit: Become Human, has announced Spellcasters Chronicles, its first free-to-play multiplayer game featuring 3v3 magic battles that blend action and strategy. A closed beta on PC (Steam) is planned before the end of the year. The studio will host a gameplay reveal for Spellcasters Chronicles live from TwitchCon San Diego this Friday, October 17th, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM PT (12:30 PM to 7:30 PM ET) on the official Twitch LAN channel. The stream will offer a first look at the gameplay, and closed beta keys may be distributed. According to David Cage, founder and president of Quantic Dream, Spellcasters Chronicles was developed in tandem with Star Wars Eclipse at the studio's Paris and Montreal locations. Cage stated the project was challenging but offered the team a great opportunity for growth. The studio is currently focused on incorporating player feedback to refine the game.

Quantic Dream's Free-to-Play Multiplayer Spellcasters Chronicles Unveils Arena Battles & Deep Deck Building

Quantic Dream's game director, Gregorie Diaconu, said Spellcasters Chronicles was born from "a creative spark, a chance to pour our love for storytelling into one big, shared world." He added that after years of development, the studio is ready to showcase the main arena battles in a closed beta on PC via Steam. Additional features, such as community-driven narratives, will be rolled out over the coming months. Spellcasters Chronicles puts players in the role of arcane mages battling in large arenas. Matches last 25 minutes, with teams competing to capture altars, destroy opponents' Life Stones, and prove their dominance. Each Spellcaster has unique abilities, including the power of flight, offering battlefield control. Players can combine tactics and creativity using their spellbooks. The game features a deep deck-building system with over 50 spells and summons for support, tank, or damage-dealing roles, ensuring strategic variety in each match. Titans, colossal creatures that can shift the tide of battle, also play a key role. A unique aspect of Spellcasters Chronicles is its emphasis on community-driven storytelling. Players can join the official Spellcasters Chronicles Discord server for community discussions and beta sign-ups. Follow the game's social media channels for additional details and updates.
