Trailer Reveals More of GRIME 2, Sequel to Metroidvania with Soulslike Elements

Metroidvania Sequel GRIME 2 Unveils Golden Formless, Environmental Interactions, Demo Available on Steam

The original GRIME introduced players to a strange world of stark whites and grays, featuring an unusual protagonist with a pale body and a black star for a head. Combat was central to the experience, emphasizing the use of living weapons with a variety of attacks and the ability to absorb defeated enemies for bonuses. GRIME 2 will maintain this focus, but this time players will control the Formless, a golden-skinned humanoid capable of consuming enemy corpses and transforming them into useful molds. GRIME 2 features surreal landscapes inspired by diverse art forms and crafts, including the elaborate porcelain setting shown in the trailer. Players can use these molds to convert captured enemies into weapons and summons, or even unlock new powers. Complementing this, the main character's extendable limbs enable players to engage distant enemies. According to developer Clover Bite, environmental interactions will also be a key feature of GRIME 2. While there is no release date yet, a demo is currently available on Steam. So far, the demo is only for PC, although the first game was also released on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
