Intergalactic Heretic Prophet Delayed, Focus Shifts to Last of Us Remasters

Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, first teased at The Game Awards last year, will not be showcased at this year's event on December 11, nor will it be released in 2026. Jeff Grubb at Giant Bomb initially reported this, and Jason Schreier at Bloomberg confirmed the information. The release trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet sparked mixed reactions, with some fans voicing concerns over the game's themes. According to these reports, Naughty Dog may forgo releasing a new, original game during the PlayStation 5 generation, focusing instead on remasters of The Last of Us. If the PlayStation 6 launches as projected in 2027, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet may be released as a cross-generation title, with an enhanced version for the newer console.
