Red Dead Redemption 2 Surpasses Mario Kart 8 to Rank 4th Among All-Time Best-Selling Games

Red Dead Redemption 2 Soars Past Mario Kart 8 to Secure Fourth Place in All-Time Best Sellers

Red Dead Redemption 2 has climbed to become the fourth-bestselling game ever, selling 79 million copies and surpassing Mario Kart 8, which sold approximately 78 million copies across its standard and Deluxe versions on Switch and Wii U. The availability of Red Dead Redemption 2 on two generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC, contributed to its sales success. The widespread distribution of Tetris across many channels makes its sales difficult to accurately assess. Currently, Minecraft holds the top spot as the best-selling game ever with 350 million copies sold. Grand Theft Auto V, also from Rockstar Games, is in second place with 220 million units sold, demonstrating Rockstar's prominence with two of the top four games. Fans eagerly await the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for November 19, 2026, after a previously announced date.
