Battlefield 6 Post-Launch Updates Focus on Enhanced Gameplay Experience

The past couple of years have been challenging for the Battlefield franchise. In contrast to the stable trajectory of Call of Duty, DICE experienced difficulties, particularly with Battlefield 2042. However, the developer made a strong return on October 10 last year with Battlefield 6, which was well-received by fans. This positive reception has prompted DICE to actively develop further updates to enhance the game experience.

Since its launch, Battlefield 6 has received several updates, demonstrating DICE's commitment to incorporating player feedback. The developer recently announced new updates specifically targeting the progression and XP gain system, addressing community requests. These updates will adjust the pace of progression and the time required to unlock items like gadgets and weapon attachments. As DICE stated on Reddit, "We know progression feels rewarding when you're getting something for your time on the battlefield." To achieve smoother and more rewarding progression for Battlefield 6 players, DICE is implementing the following changes: Boosting end-of-match XP by 10 and daily bonuses by 40. Cutting the XP needed to unlock the first 20 weapon attachment ranks almost in half. Dropping the required career ranks for certain missions from an initial 20, 23, and 26 down to 10, 15, and 20.

Battlefield 6 Addresses XP Farming Issue: Changes Aim to Boost Traditional Multiplayer Engagement

Since Battlefield 6's launch, DICE identified an unforeseen issue with server utilization: players have been creating numerous servers primarily for XP farming, boosting player stats, and acquiring special rewards by defeating bots. While DICE understands the motivation behind these actions, this practice has led to unexpected problems. A significant number of servers are currently dedicated to XP farming rather than standard gameplay, making it difficult for players to find and join matches with others. An upcoming update will reduce the prevalence of these XP farm servers and promote more traditional multiplayer engagement. This change will require maintenance for Battlefield 6's servers, with a date to be announced. DICE noted that these adjustments are "just the start" and anticipates "more tweaks as Season 1 gets ready." The developer expressed gratitude to the community for its ongoing participation.
