Stranger Things Won't Meet Game of Thrones' Fate

Stranger Things Stars Avoid Game of Thrones' Controversial Ending with Strong Scripts and Duffer Brothers' Vision

Stranger Things' immense popularity has led its stars to voice a clear desire for a definitive conclusion, aiming to avoid a controversial ending akin to Game of Thrones. The 2019 Game of Thrones finale disappointed many viewers, despite the show's broad appeal. Finn Wolfhard, a Stranger Things cast member, shared with Time that the cast was concerned about the reception of Game of Thrones' final season. This apprehension led them to hope for a different outcome for their own series. However, after reviewing the scripts for Season 5, the cast recognized its exceptional quality and felt reassured about its direction. Wolfhard assured fans that Stranger Things' final season would avoid such pitfalls, citing the strength of the script and the Duffer Brothers' study of acclaimed series like The Sopranos for audience satisfaction. Season 5 of Stranger Things premieres on November 26th, with subsequent installments on December 25th and December 31st.
