Ax-Wielding Santa Returns in 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' Remake (2025)
Come 2025, cinemas will offer a terrifying holiday experience with the release of Silent Night, Deadly Night. The remake of the 1984 film just dropped its first trailer, featuring an ax-wielding Santa and promising anything but a typical Christmas vibe. New Dimension Studios, Rebel 6 Films, and White Bear Films are collaborating on this bloody reimagining of the 80s classic. In the film, Santa punishes "naughty" children in brutal ways. The original 1984 movie's plot depicted a child witnessing their parents' murder by Saint Nick, leading that child to grow up to become the feared killer Santa. The new trailer, however, specifically shows a character named Billy transforming from victim to criminal. Silent Night, Deadly Night is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on December 12, 2025. A release date for Portugal has not yet been announced.
