Disappointed Actor Jacob Scipio Hopes for Batgirl Release Amid Cancellation Controversy
Jacob Scipio remains disappointed by the cancellation of Batgirl, a film Warner Bros. decided not to release in 2022 despite its completion. The decision to scrap the movie, which was reportedly ready for distribution, shocked both fans and the cast. Currently, Scipio is promoting Maintenance Required but has not forgotten the shelved DC film. She continues to express hope that audiences will one day see Batgirl. "I saw it, and it was amazing," Scipio told The Direct. "I was really bummed that everyone else didn't get to. But who knows? You never know." When asked if Batgirl could still be released, similar to the recent reprieve for Coyote vs. Acme, Scipio remarked, "Hollywood's weird, right? If enough people want it, maybe it'll happen." Despite Scipio's affection for the film, DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran stated in 2023 that Batgirl was not ready for release. However, many involved in the film's production believed it was practically finished.

- At the Gotham City library, Barbara Gordon helps Bruce Wayne find a book on butterflies so he can prove a point to a friend, a millionaire explorer. As Bruce and his youthful ward, Dick Grayson, are leaving they spot the villainous Killer Moth and three of his henchmen and, suspecting they are up to no good, determine to return as their superhero alter-egos, Batman and Robin. While the Caped Crusaders are donning their costumes, the criminal quartet knock out the millionaire, lock Barbara in an alcove and prepare to spirit their victim away.
