Anime Adaptation of Edge of Tomorrow Spotlights Rita in Loop-centric Battle for Humanity

Warner Bros. Japan has released the trailer for All You Need Is Kill, an anime film based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's book, which was illustrated by Yoshitoshi Abe. The story follows Keiji Kiriya, a soldier trapped in a time loop as he battles aliens. Each time Keiji dies, the loop resets, allowing him to gather new information about his adversaries. During one loop, he encounters Rita, also known as "Full Metal Bitch," who becomes his primary ally in the fight to save humanity from extinction. However, the trailer for this Studio 4°C production gives Rita significant prominence, suggesting she may emerge as the central protagonist. Viewers familiar with Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, will recognize the plot. All You Need Is Kill will premiere in Japanese cinemas on January 9, 2026. However, there is currently no information regarding a Western release.
